KPop idol Seohyun of Girls’ Generation has recently posted a New Year message to her fans on Instagram after her surprising performance on MBC’s “King Of Masked Singer” on January 29 wherein she performed MAMAMOO’s “You’re The Best”.
“Hello! It’s New year, New bride, Cock-a-doodle-doo. Today my identity was revealed! Even when wearing a mask while singing, there were still people who recognized my voice. I’m really curious as to how you liked my song,” reads the caption of Seohyun’s post which shows her adorable image in the popular English language nursery rhyme ”Cock-a-doodle-dooas” costume as quoted by Soompi.
She further wrote: “It was a really exciting and nerve-wracking moment! Moving forward, I will be a singer who shows you even better music and performances!”. The singer’s post has received over 200,000 likes and thousands of positive feedback from her followers.
Meanwhile, Seohyun’s debut EP “Don't Say No” has recently claimed the top spot on the South Korean Gaon Album Chart upon its release. Furthermore, it also placed 3rd on the World Albums chart, Billboard reports. Because of this, the record is considered as the “Biggest K-pop Album in America” for the last week of January.
The EP is composed of 7 songs including "Hello" (featuring Eric Nam), “Love & Affection”, “Bad Love”, and many more. In fact, most of the singles on the album were mostly written by Seohyun herself. Moreover, the music video for its title track “Don't Say No” was recently released on SMTOWN’s YouTube page.
Born as Seo Ju Hyun, the artist began her career in the industry in 2007 after joining Girls’ Generation Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and the former member Jessica. Aside from her commitments with the group, Seohyun also appeared in stage musicals including ”Moon Embracing the Sun” and “Mamma Mia”.
